Job Description
The Knowledge Product Manager plays a pivotal role in the development, positioning, and promotion of People in Need’s (PIN) key knowledge products and programming approaches. Developing, positioning, and promoting PIN’s key knowledge products and programming approaches. Developing and executing digital marketing plans to engage supporters and the public to become financial supporters of Greenpeace. PIN has built a robust archive of assessments, analysis, studies, as well as evidence-based programmatic approaches, however, there is a growing need to support the organization in shaping them into digestible, well branded, audience specific products that are tailored to PIN’s priority donors (institutional, philanthropic, foundations, etc.). The position is a global role and reports to the Director of the Programme Strategy and Impact (PSI) Department. You will work closely with teams of global technical advisors and regionally-specialised colleagues across Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Eastern Europe. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Knowledge Product Development: Analysis and Evidence. Work closely with PSI advisors to define, develop, and deliver product branding for strategic analytic knowledge products (e.g. showcasing our civil society mapping expertise). Ensure that flagship studies, reports, and assessments are accessible, well-branded, and aligned with PIN’s learning, influencing and/or positioning agenda. Work with regional advisors, M&E, PSI and other relevant colleagues to identify opportunities for aligning analyses planned by PIN’s country programmes with the product brands. Support finalisation of selected publications and analyses, including drafting or editing executive summaries to enhance strategic messaging, working with Graphics colleagues to create high quality visuals, working with PSI advisors on the development of capability statements, etc. Support the development of dissemination strategies for each of the analysis product brands and integrate with the RDD Content Plan. Work in coordination with HQ and regional MEAL teams to align product planning, content finalisation, and communications timelines via centralised tracking tools and shared backstopping mechanisms. Support PSI advisors and PIN leadership to develop and publish key though leadership pieces (blogs, opinion pieces, etc.) that are grounded in PIN’s expertise. Knowledge Product Development: Programmatic Approaches. Collaborate closely with Advisors to co-develop and refine the identity and communication strategies for PIN’s key flagship approaches and methodologies. Coordinate with graphics teams to design compelling, high-quality visual materials tailored to each product’s goals and audience. Ensure that all communication outputs align with the growth and strategic positioning of each product as well as pillar strategies. Advise and strengthen capacities of relevant CP counterparts on branding their products (incl. design and communication strategy), in line with aligned with PIN’s learning, influencing and/or positioning agenda. Upon request, work with CP Communications teams to strengthen capacities in strategic communications for their branded products and analyses created in CP. Support to Strategic Communications. In collaboration with PIN’s Institutional Relations Department (IRD) and product leads, manage a roster of international and regional editors, journalists, and thematic content creators. With IRD and PSI’s support, pitch thought-leadership products and secure speaking engagements. Work with PSI, Institutional Relations and Communications Departments coordinate our global communications priorities structured by the Content Plan.
Requirements
At least 5 years experience leading knowledge management planning and strategy implementation for international development and/or humanitarian response contexts INGOs. Experienced in developing key messaging and communication strategies to launch products: digital products or otherwise. Developing organizational skills with a high level of accuracy. Working with graphic designers. Experience using Adobe Creative Suites would be an advantage.
