Role Overview
The Funds & Wallets system powers the custody of digital assets, enabling thousands of trading customers to make secure deposits as margin in our Trading Engine. Our systems are responsible for tracking deposits and withdrawals, and interacting with the blockchains of supported currencies and networks.
BitMEX is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Custody Engineering Lead to join our dynamic team. This individual will work closely with our Trading and Wallet Technology Engineers to enhance the security, efficiency, and scalability of deposit, custody, and withdrawal systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering team responsible for custody and wallet infrastructure
- Design and implement secure digital asset custody solutions
- Enhance system performance, reliability, and scalability across blockchain interactions
- Collaborate with Trading Engine and Wallet Technology teams
- Oversee deposit and withdrawal processing systems
- Drive improvements in security protocols and operational efficiency
- Mentor and manage engineering team members
Requirements
- Extensive experience in cryptocurrency custody, blockchain technology, or digital asset management
- Proven track record as an engineering leader or senior engineer in fintech/crypto
- Strong expertise in distributed systems and financial infrastructure
- Deep understanding of blockchain networks and cryptocurrency protocols
- Experience with secure systems design and cryptographic implementations
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills
