Horizon Industries Limited is seeking an experienced Business Analyst (Appian) to support the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) in a full-time remote position. Position Overview
Term: Future Opportunity - Proposal
Salary: $100,000–$120,000 annually
Citizenship & Clearance: US Citizenship required
Location: Remote, US (occasional travel may be required)

Key Responsibilities
- Review user stories in backlog and gain solid understanding of required changes
- Collaborate with Product Owners to understand user stories and updates needed
- Document acceptance criteria for user stories and bug tickets with precision
- Guide developers in understanding user stories, acceptance criteria, and lead functionality discussions
- Test user stories and ensure appropriate documentation with recorded evidence
- Serve as scrum master and lead daily standup meetings
- Develop and execute agendas for backlog grooming sessions with Product Owner concurrence
- Facilitate backlog grooming sessions and demo day presentations
- Train stakeholders on new functionality and system enhancements
- Document comprehensive business processes and system changes
- Maintain and update requirements documentation and user manuals
Required Qualifications
- Ability to provide detailed, comprehensive, testable, and traceable process components including Business Requirements, Functional Requirements, Data Requirements, System Software Specifications, and Use Cases
- Demonstrated expertise in business process and system analysis, design, and implementation
- Strong experience with Appian platform or similar low-code development environments
- Proficiency in requirements documentation and stakeholder management
- Proven ability to work effectively in Agile/Scrum environments
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience testing and validating software functionality against acceptance criteria
- Knowledge of government IT systems and DISA environments is highly valued
