Role Overview

As a Business Development Consultant, you will identify, develop, and manage relationships with potential clients, investors, and strategic partners across Europe. Leveraging your established network in the climate sector, you will drive business growth in collaboration with CFS' business development and leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development and Client Acquisition:

  • Identify and engage climate startups, corporates, and entities seeking grant funding
  • Collaborate with CFS' business development team to execute campaigns based on specific funding opportunities
  • Leverage existing connections within the climate and sustainability ecosystem to generate leads
  • Develop and execute region-specific targeted outreach strategies to secure new business
  • Represent CFS at climate and sustainability conferences, networking events, and investor summits

Strategic Partnerships and Investor Relations:

  • Cultivate and expand relationships with climate-focused venture capital firms, private equity firms, impact investors, corporate partners, and funding agencies
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships aligned with climate financing and grant development opportunities
  • Support CFS' technical team with project-specific partnership development as needed

Revenue Growth and Performance:

  • Meet and exceed business development and revenue targets
  • Track and report on sales pipeline, conversion rates, and client engagement metrics

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, consulting, or investment within climate or sustainability sectors in Europe
  • Well-established professional network among climate companies, investors, and strategic partners
  • Proven track record of generating leads and closing business development deals
  • Strong understanding of climate finance, grant funding mechanisms, and EU funding landscape
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
