The Role

We're seeking a high-impact Senior Python Software Engineer to join our Portal Team. You'll shape the core B2B product that connects global carriers, retailers, and travel partners to Distribusion's infrastructure. Portal serves as the central interface to our ecosystem, encompassing high-performance booking and analytics tools, identity management, and operational dashboards. In this position, you'll drive architectural decisions, integrate complex workflows, and collaborate across Data, Platform, and E-commerce teams to deliver scalable, seamless experiences for the global ground transportation industry.

What You'll Do

  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented Python code for production systems
  • Develop and maintain backend services and APIs within web projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features
  • Debug, test, and optimize applications for performance and scalability
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
  • Implement business-critical applications with measurable impact
  • Maintain system uptime of at least 99.9%
  • Work in high-velocity teams while driving ownership and technical excellence

What You Have

  • Strong Python experience (Ruby, TypeScript experience is a plus)
  • Proficiency with frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or ReactJS
  • General understanding of SQL databases, indexes, and locks
  • Nice to have: Full-stack experience, Docker, Kubernetes proficiency
  • Driven, ambitious mindset with hands-on approach to solving complex problems

Workplace

This is a hybrid role based in Berlin with our headquarters office, though we operate as a remote-first company with teams distributed globally. You'll have flexibility to work remotely while collaborating with the team in Berlin when needed.
