The Role

As a Senior Recruiter, you'll be a hunter for rare talent and the right organizational fit. One week you'll build sourcing strategy for a niche finance role; the next, you'll network to find a senior communications candidate or learn a new function to advise hiring managers on excellence. You'll own full-cycle recruiting for roles across Operations and Outreach functions including Finance, Legal, Tech, Philanthropy, and Communications, with involvement in research recruiting as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Hiring Managers: Collaborate closely with GiveWell leaders to define hiring needs, guide them through processes, monitor talent pool trends, and improve hiring decisions.
  • Build Top-of-Funnel Talent: Actively hunt passive talent through targeted sourcing, referrals, networking, and events. Use all available tools to prospect and creatively attract high-quality candidates to GiveWell.
  • Create Hiring Infrastructure: Craft compelling job descriptions, design interview plans that strengthen signals and reduce noise, sharpen evaluation tools, train hiring teams, and measure effectiveness.
  • Manage Candidate Experience: Serve as the point of contact for candidates throughout the hiring process, ensuring frictionless, speedy, and impressive interactions that reflect GiveWell's values.

This role requires someone who understands that the quality of our hires directly impacts how many lives we can save and improve. You'll think strategically about recruiting while executing flawlessly on daily sourcing and candidate management.
