Job Description

About Huntress

Huntress is a fully remote, global cybersecurity company founded in 2015 by former NSA cyber operators. We're on a mission to break down barriers to enterprise-grade cybersecurity by protecting all businesses—not just the 1%—with fully owned and managed security solutions at affordable SaaS pricing. Our One Team advantage integrates purpose-built technology with our industry-defining Security Operations Center (SOC). We currently protect 4M+ endpoints and 7M+ identities worldwide, enabling underresourced IT teams to defend against evolving threats.

The Role

We're seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to lead and elevate our Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) teams. You'll drive the development of our flagship EDR product—a core offering that enables Huntress to defeat hackers and defend the 99%. This is a strategic leadership position reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, where you'll combine state-of-the-art engineering practices with deep people leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver performant, scalable EDR products iteratively, balancing incremental customer value with long-term product evolution
  • Drive the technical roadmap and best practices for EDR solutions to accommodate rapid growth and increased user demand
  • Attract, recruit, and retain top engineering talent across distributed teams
  • Hire and coach engineering managers to build and enable high-performing teams
  • Set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance conversations to foster excellence
  • Identify opportunities to improve product quality, engineering practices, and time-to-market efficiency
  • Partner with engineering leaders, product teams, and architects to ensure alignment and customer value delivery
  • Champion low-wall collaboration across disciplines, encouraging innovation and customer-centric thinking

Why Join Huntress

You'll lead a passionate team working on mission-critical security technology in a fully remote, inclusive culture. We believe great ideas come from everywhere and the best products emerge from teams that deeply understand customers, experiment, and validate solutions.
