Imagine Worldwide is a California-based nonprofit organization with a mission to empower millions of children across Sub-Saharan Africa with essential literacy and numeracy skills. Operating in seven Sub-Saharan African countries, the organization provides innovative education technology solutions using the onebillion tablet-based application, supported by comprehensive toolkits and implementation systems. Nine Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) across multiple countries have demonstrated significant learning gains, increased school attendance, and gender parity—all at a cost of less than $7 per child per year.

Role Overview

The Global Finance Manager will play a critical role in supporting Imagine Worldwide's mission across scale countries including Malawi, Sierra Leone, and Tanzania. This position is instrumental in accounting and financial management, implementing financial procedures and systems while ensuring compliance with corporate and project standards. The Finance Manager will maintain oversight of day-to-day financial activities and join a highly committed, collaborative team dedicated to empowering children globally. This international role offers a flexible, learning-focused environment for career development and growth. The position reports to the Director of Finance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage project risks with appropriate escalation protocols
• Oversee accounting and financial processes at Imagine Global level
• Manage external auditor relationships, including coordination with BDO
• Oversee the annual financial audit process
• Establish and manage Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) payment systems for scale countries and global staff, including expense claims administration
• Support implementation of grants management systems across scale countries
• Lead system migration from QuickBooks to Sage Intacct
• Contribute to strategic financial management activities including annual budget development, financial planning and analysis, cash flow management, and comprehensive financial reporting
• Assist in developing project-level financial management strategies
• Collaborate with Director of Finance, Director of Administration, and scale country finance teams to ensure timely execution of all project activities

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong accounting and financial management expertise, experience with nonprofit finance systems, and proficiency with accounting software platforms. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across international teams are essential. Experience with grants management, financial compliance, and system implementation will be highly valued.
