Role Overview
As a Student Loan Professional, you'll help borrowers understand repayment options, forgiveness programs, and strategies to effectively manage student loan debt. This contract position is ideal for experienced financial professionals ready to make a direct impact on borrowers' financial futures.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct 30-minute consultations with borrowers to assess their financial situations
- Explain federal repayment plans and loan forgiveness program eligibility
- Guide customers through income-driven repayment program options
- Educate borrowers on deferment, forbearance, and loan consolidation strategies
- Develop personalized strategies to reduce long-term student loan costs
Ideal Background
- Proven experience as a student loan counselor, financial advisor, or loan servicing professional
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal and private student loan programs
- Strong familiarity with borrower protection programs and repayment options
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly
