The Role
The Operations team plays a critical role in ensuring seamless end-to-end execution of Lambda's AI-IaaS infrastructure and hardware. As a Technical Program Manager, you'll be responsible for managing large-scale GPU cluster deployments across datacenter colocation facilities nationwide, overseeing day-to-day operations to maintain optimal performance and uptime, and driving cross-company coordination through our product management organization to align operational capabilities with strategic goals. This position manages the full lifecycle from procurement to deployment and operational efficiency, ensuring our AI-driven infrastructure is reliable, scalable, and aligned with business priorities.
Note: This position requires presence in our San Jose or San Francisco office 4 days per week, with Tuesday as the designated work-from-home day.
What You'll Do
- Manage large-scale deployments of GPU clusters in datacenter colocation facilities across the country
- Work closely with Data Center engineering and operations teams to ensure proper deployment of infrastructure requirements
- Drive multiple simultaneous projects forward, assessing risks and monitoring task execution
- Proactively manage dependencies and anticipate/resolve execution issues before they impact timelines
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders including Product, Engineering, and Operations to ensure we build the right solution, test correctly, deploy on schedule, and meet stated SLAs
- Manage communication of progress and status with internal stakeholders and customer groups across various locations and time zones
- Interact with internal and external stakeholders at various organizational levels to resolve technical and scheduling issues
- Build strong partnerships across Lambda and leverage credibility and technical acumen to drive process improvements and operational efficiencies
- Contribute to the development of new business opportunities and expansion of existing initiatives
About You
- 7+ years of experience in program/project management for complex product development programs
- Thorough understanding of agile and waterfall management techniques
- Technical background with demonstrated ability to engage on technical topics—typically evidenced by an Engineering degree or equivalent technical experience
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills with ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels and time zones
- Proven ability to build cross-functional partnerships and drive results through influence
- Experience with infrastructure, deployment, or operations programs highly valued
