Role Overview

We're seeking a MarTech & AI Automation Developer to build the automation backbone of our marketing engine and lay technical groundwork for AI agent integration across the business. This role is part growth engineer, part automation architect, and part AI agent integrator—with a clear path to owning intelligent automation rollout company-wide. You'll work cross-functionally with Growth, Marketing, Product, and Engineering to build, connect, and optimize tools and workflows powering the customer journey from first touch through to loyal, high-value users.

Key Responsibilities

AI-Enhanced Marketing Automation

  • Architect and implement marketing automation workflows using Customer.io, Make.com, or HubSpot with AI agent triggers (auto-responders, AI DMs, onboarding guides)
  • Integrate AI agents (GPT-4o, Claude, Gemini) to support lifecycle touchpoints: lead capture, email composition, campaign reporting, and churn prediction
  • Build and maintain intelligent workflows across paid, organic, and lifecycle channels

AI Agent Infrastructure Development

  • Prototype and develop internal AI agent frameworks starting in marketing, with potential for company-wide deployment
  • Build APIs and data connectors to enable AI agents to access customer data, segment users, and trigger automated responses
  • Document and operationalize agent workflows for scaling across departments

Growth & Marketing Optimization

  • Design and execute growth experiments using automation and AI to improve conversion, retention, and LTV
  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize campaign performance using data-driven insights
  • Collaborate with marketing to identify automation opportunities and implement solutions

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience with marketing automation platforms (Customer.io, Make.com, HubSpot, Zapier, or equivalent)
  • Strong proficiency in backend/full-stack development (Python, Node.js, or similar)
  • Experience integrating LLMs and AI APIs into production workflows
  • Solid understanding of data structures, APIs, and system architecture
  • Experience with growth engineering, lifecycle marketing, or related fields
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, startup environments with ambiguous requirements

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with customer data platforms (CDPs) or data warehousing
  • Knowledge of agentic frameworks or multi-step LLM workflows
  • Background in e-commerce or SaaS growth
