About the Role
As a Full-Stack Rails Tech Lead, you'll architect and implement LLM-powered web applications within our microservices-based Rails 8 platform. Reporting directly to our CTO, you'll collaborate with a small, high-impact team to deliver user experiences across Dividend.com, MutualFunds.com and other brands within our portfolio.
This role combines expert Ruby on Rails skills with AI integration expertise, requiring you to leverage LLMs in your development workflow, state management and user interactions. You'll work in a remote-first hybrid environment that encourages in-person collaboration, using Shape Up for product development methodology.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop full-stack web applications using Rails 8 and modern front-end technologies
- Architect microservices-based solutions with Docker, Kubernetes, and distributed systems
- Integrate AI/LLM capabilities into web applications and user workflows
- Lead technical decisions and mentor junior engineers
- Optimize database performance with PostgreSQL, Redis, and Elasticsearch
- Build RESTful APIs and scalable system architecture
Required Experience
- Expert-level proficiency in Ruby on Rails
- Strong full-stack development skills: React, JavaScript (ES6), HTML, CSS
- Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Database expertise: PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch
- Version control with Git and GitHub
- Experience integrating or working with AI/ML and LLMs
- System architecture and design patterns knowledge
