About This Role
Remote, a global leader in international employment compliance solutions, is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our Finance, Tax & Accounting team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing, fully remote organisation that operates across six continents, supporting businesses in managing global teams compliantly.
Our Finance team manages everything from tax and accounting to treasury, strategic finance, investor relations, and M&A. As an Accountant, you will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health and accuracy of our operations, ensuring compliance, managing risk, and providing insights that guide strategic business decisions across all territories where Remote operates.
Key Responsibilities
- Post financial transactions in SAP and maintain accurate general ledger records
- Close and reconcile sub-ledger accounts including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets, Bank reconciliations, and Intercompany transactions
- Record and reconcile payroll across multiple countries, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including balance sheet reconciliation
- Prepare variance analysis and provide financial insights to support management decision-making
- Ensure portfolio compliance with local statutory requirements including VAT returns, statutory financial documents, corporate income tax (CIT) returns, and timely filing of all regulatory submissions
What You Bring
- Post-qualification accounting experience and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Demonstrated proficiency with core finance systems (SAP or similar platforms)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and commitment to ensuring compliance
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
- Solid financial analysis skills with ability to interpret trends and variances
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and broader Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in fluent English
- Strong time management and ability to meet consistent, tight deadlines
- Capability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in an asynchronous, distributed team
- Remote work experience preferred (though not required)
