Product/UX Designer (Contract)
💰 $100,000 – $150,000/yr
Job Description
About RevenueBase
RevenueBase is building the data infrastructure that makes AI agents trustworthy instead of error-prone. We provide continuously refreshed, verified B2B data and tools for humans and autonomous AI agents. The company has tripled growth while maintaining 100% gross dollar retention and staying cashflow positive. RevenueBase powers AI agents for Clay, Zoominfo, Dun & Bradstreet, and the next generation of AI GTM tools.
About the Role
We're hiring a full-time contract Product/UX Designer to own the design of our new web application from the ground up. Your primary users are CTOs and developers; your secondary audience is revenue operations teams.
We have working POCs—functional coded prototypes that prove the concept but lack a cohesive product experience. Your job is to take what exists and design the real thing. Step one is building out the core self-serve web app where users purchase data, make API calls, and integrate our platform into their workflows. Beyond that is a multi-step roadmap you'll help shape.
You'll work directly with the CEO and a small engineering team with no layers between you and decisions. As our first dedicated design hire, you'll set the patterns, build the design system, and own the product experience entirely.
This is not a "make it pretty" role. We need someone who can design information architecture for complex data products AND craft the product-led growth flows that convert, activate, and retain users without a sales team. You'll understand what a developer cares about on first login and what they'll never click.
Why This Role Matters
We're launching a new web application with self-serve data purchasing, API access, and freemium onboarding—all built for technical buyers. Today we have functional POCs but no cohesive product experience. This is a product-led growth company where the product IS the sales motion. Every screen, flow, and interaction you design directly impacts conversion and retention.
Your First 30 Days
You'll start with a design audit of our existing POCs and a deep dive into our data products, user personas, and competitive landscape. By the end of your first month, you'll have:
- Mapped the information architecture for the new web app
- Identified highest-leverage UX improvements to existing prototypes
- Delivered initial wireframes for core self-serve flows (signup, data browsing, purchase)
- Built alignment with the team on a design roadmap
What You'll Do
- Design the New Web App End-to-End — Take existing POCs and shape them into a polished, production-ready product experience including onboarding, data browsing, self-serve purchasing, API key management, and usage dashboards.
- Own Information Architecture for Data Products — Make complex B2B data discoverable and purchasable for technical users with little to no hand-holding.
- Design PLG Flows — Build signup, freemium activation, and self-serve conversion flows that work without a sales team.
- Define Design Systems & Patterns — Establish reusable components, interaction patterns, and design standards for consistency across the product.
- Collaborate on Product Strategy — Work with engineering and leadership to shape the product roadmap based on user research and design insights.
- Validate Designs with Users — Conduct user interviews and usability tests with developers and CTOs to refine the experience.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of product design experience, ideally with B2B SaaS or developer-focused products
- Proven ability to design complex, data-heavy applications
- Strong portfolio demonstrating information architecture and product-led growth thinking
- Experience designing for technical audiences (developers, engineers, CTOs)
- Comfort with ambiguity and ownership mindset—you'll shape this product from day one
- Familiarity with design tools (Figma) and prototyping
