About the Role
Sanctuary Computer is seeking a talented Senior Firmware Engineer to join our IoT teams on a worldwide remote basis. In this role, you will take ownership of firmware development projects that power innovative IoT solutions, working across the full stack from hardware integration to cloud connectivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust firmware solutions for IoT devices using C and C++
- Optimize kernel-level code and system performance on embedded Linux/Unix platforms
- Architect scalable infrastructure and service design for IoT ecosystems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to ensure seamless device integration
- Implement cloud connectivity solutions using AWS and modern IoT protocols
- Contribute to open source projects and maintain high code quality standards
- Partner with product management to align technical solutions with business goals
- Mentor junior engineers and establish best practices for firmware development
Required Skills & Experience
- Expert-level proficiency in C and C++ for embedded systems
- Strong experience with Linux/Unix kernel development and optimization
- Demonstrated expertise in IoT hardware and firmware architecture
- Solid understanding of cloud platforms, particularly AWS
- Experience with service design and infrastructure patterns
- Familiarity with open source development workflows
- Track record of successful firmware projects in startup environments
