What You'll Do
We're seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to lead backend development initiatives within the ClarOps team. This role transcends traditional coding responsibilities—you'll shape technical direction, foster engineering best practices, and ensure the performance and scalability of backend systems that directly support Clara's operational efficiency. You'll mentor junior developers, influence critical architecture decisions, and work cross-functionally to address Clara's most impactful challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Lead backend design and implementation for high-impact internal systems and services
Collaborate across the full product lifecycle—from ideation to deployment and beyond
Mentor junior developers and uphold strong engineering standards across the team
Write scalable, testable code with unit and integration testing built into every solution
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure backend systems meet business objectives
Contribute to architectural decisions that enable long-term scalability and performance
Champion best practices in code quality, documentation, and system reliability

You're an experienced backend engineer with a proven track record of leading technical initiatives and mentoring teams. You have deep expertise in backend architecture, scalable system design, and writing production-grade code. You're comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment, thrive on solving complex technical problems, and are passionate about building systems that impact thousands of businesses. Experience with payment systems, fintech, or operational platforms is valued.
