About This Role

We are seeking a Senior Java Backend Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Munich. You will play a key role in designing, building, and scaling high-performance backend systems using modern Java technologies and cloud-native architectures. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working on complex systems, cares deeply about code quality, and has a strong architectural mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java 17 or recent versions (11+)
• Build and evolve microservice-based and event-driven architectures
• Develop APIs using GraphQL
• Work with Spring Boot and Spring Reactive (WebFlux)
• Design and optimize data models using MySQL and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB or MongoDB)
• Ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability of backend systems
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Implement performance testing and optimization strategies
