About This Role
SpaceX is seeking a Customs Analyst specializing in Global Trade Compliance to join our Singapore office. In this role, you will be instrumental in helping SpaceX navigate complex international trade laws and regulations across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. You'll work at the intersection of logistics, regulatory compliance, and international business, supporting SpaceX's mission to enable human life on Mars by ensuring seamless global trade operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day trade operations by collaborating with customs brokers to ensure timely and accurate customs clearance of shipments
- Provide strategic guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders regarding import and export shipment statuses and regulatory requirements
- Maintain comprehensive trade documentation in compliance with local and international regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions
- Draft, implement, and maintain trade compliance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and regulatory adherence
- Obtain and analyze import and export data from government sources and data providers to identify duty mitigation opportunities and support import tax reclamation initiatives
- Monitor and interpret evolving international trade regulations and laws, with particular attention to aerospace and telecommunications industry requirements
- Conduct internal compliance audits to identify gaps, assess broker performance, and recommend improvements to trade compliance processes
- Execute ad hoc projects and special assignments supporting SpaceX's global trade strategy
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or related field
- Minimum 1+ years of hands-on experience with international trade compliance matters, including import/export procedures and regulatory navigation
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Proficiency in Asian languages (Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, or others)
- Prior international assignments, expatriate experience, or global project involvement
- Industry knowledge in aerospace, defense, telecommunications, or satellite technology sectors
- Data analytics capabilities including Power BI, advanced Excel, SQL, Python, or equivalent analytical tools
- Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional global teams and government agencies
Additional Requirements
Work Authorization: SpaceX is prioritizing applicants with current right to work in Singapore. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Location: This is a full-time onsite position based in Singapore. Remote work and hybrid arrangements will not be considered.
