Job Description

About SpaceX

SpaceX was founded on the belief that a future where humanity is exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today, SpaceX actively develops technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

Role Overview

As a Global Supply Manager for Starlink Product based in Singapore, you will play a critical role in SpaceX's supply chain operations. You will have the opportunity to influence and shape partnerships with international suppliers, challenging the supply chain on cost, quality, and speed of execution. This position directly supports Starlink's terrestrial hardware—including user terminals and ground stations—enabling the world's largest satellite constellation to deliver fast, reliable internet to millions of users worldwide.

The SpaceX Supply Chain Department is fundamental to company operations. This role encompasses procurement, planning, fulfillment, supplier development, quality assurance, logistics, and inventory management across a global network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supply Base Development: Develop and manage the supplier network to support contract manufacturing for Starlink user terminals and ground stations.
  • Program Management: Provide daily program status updates, escalate issues to management when necessary, and communicate production readiness status including schedules, risks, and mitigation actions.
  • On-Site Manufacturing Oversight: Perform on-site management at contract manufacturer partners to oversee development builds, ramp-ups, and mass production to achieve production targets.
  • Forecasting & Capacity Planning: Forecast supplier demand, plan manufacturing capacity, track supply levels, and maintain purchase order and receiving accuracy while ensuring supply chain flexibility to minimize risks and guarantee on-time delivery.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with worldwide teams to plan manufacturing capacity, prepare supply chain for new product ramps, lead timely resolution of supply issues, and provide accurate risk assessments and supply projections.
  • Budget Management: Build and own project budgets, track asset purchases, and ensure suppliers operate within approved budgets.
  • Cost Optimization: Understand technical aspects of production equipment to identify opportunities for cost, space, and process optimization. Use data analytics to identify and evaluate process-related opportunities.
  • Strategic Negotiations: Utilize negotiations to maximize value, cost savings, and delivery priority for SpaceX while lowering risk. Manage costs to ensure alignment with program budgets.
  • Market Research & Benchmarking: Conduct research, perform benchmarking, and gather market analysis for assigned product categories.
  • Sourcing Strategy: Create sourcing strategies to reduce risk, enable continuous cost reduction, and align with company strategy on payment terms, cash targets, on-time delivery, and cost savings.
  • Relationship Building: Build genuine relationships internally and externally. Drive cross-functional teams to achieve consensus and present value propositions to SpaceX executives on contract awards, cost reviews, cost reduction strategies, and critical supply issues.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, contract management, or related supply chain functions; OR
  • 10+ years of equivalent professional experience in supply chain operations, logistics, or manufacturing management.

What You'll Gain

This is a high-impact position where you will directly influence SpaceX's ability to scale Starlink production globally. You will work with cutting-edge satellite technology, collaborate with world-class engineering teams, and shape the future of global internet connectivity. Your strategic decisions on sourcing, manufacturing, and supply chain optimization will have measurable impact on company profitability and mission success.
