The Role
As a Global Government Affairs Manager for Starlink in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, you will play a pivotal role in enabling Starlink's expansion across one of the world's most dynamic markets. Working within the Government Affairs team, you will drive direct lobbying efforts, build strategic coalitions, and navigate complex regulatory environments to facilitate market access and licensing approvals. This is a hands-on position requiring expertise in international telecommunications policy, regulatory strategy, and high-level government relations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support global government affairs initiatives and facilitate international rollout of Starlink by managing government relations efforts to accelerate licensing, market access, and regulatory approvals across the APAC region
- Shape spectrum policy, business operations objectives, and broadband policy discussions with foreign administrations and regulatory bodies
- Develop, maintain, and expand relationships with international government officials, lawmakers, and regulatory decision-makers throughout APAC
- Oversee and manage external consultants and third-party partners engaged in SpaceX global government affairs matters
- Develop and execute global legislative strategies, tactics, and policy initiatives
- Draft legislative language, prepare hearing testimony, attend regulatory proceedings, and develop SpaceX policy positions
- Monitor and analyze APAC market policy developments, regulatory trends, and competitive landscape
- Prepare high-impact presentations and strategic briefs for SpaceX leadership and external stakeholders
- Conduct policy research, develop collateral materials, and produce strategic analysis to support government relations objectives
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- 5+ years of professional experience working on legislative and policy matters in the private sector, government organization, or international affairs
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Advanced degree (MA, JD, PhD) in science, policy, political science, international affairs, law, or related field
- Demonstrated experience working on international telecommunications regulatory matters, legislative committees, or with international telecom organizations in APAC
- Technical knowledge of launch vehicles, satellites, space technology, and space policy
- Expert-level understanding of radiofrequency spectrum technology and spectrum policy
- Proven track record of achieving definitive legislative outcomes and winning policy battles
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with ability to articulate complex technical and policy concepts
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex, multi-stakeholder problems in international contexts
- Exceptional coalition-building and partnership development experience
- Passion for SpaceX's mission and commitment to advancing rural and global broadband connectivity
- Willingness to travel within APAC region as needed
