Blacksmith is seeking an experienced Team Lead - Full Stack Developer to spearhead the development of unique, custom WordPress themes and plugins for our clients while maintaining strong backend coding practices. In this leadership role, you'll transform completed designs into live, interactive web experiences with beautiful, clean code. You'll support clean code practices across the team and serve as a technical advisor to our clients alongside the Director of Engineering.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Lead and conduct code reviews, establishing and maintaining high coding standards
- Provide technical advisory to clients to recommend solutions that meet their business objectives
- Scope complex custom WordPress and ecommerce builds with accuracy and precision
- Develop expert-level HTML, CSS, and JavaScript implementations
- Execute backend development with advanced PHP expertise
- Design, develop, and optimize MySQL databases for performance and scalability
- Build custom WordPress themes and plugins from ground up
- Demonstrate deep understanding of WordPress core software and functions at the code level
- Work proficiently with SASS/SCSS/LESS preprocessors and Flexbox layouts
- Create fully responsive websites that function flawlessly across all devices and browsers
- Utilize Git/Bitbucket for version control and collaboration
- Implement ADA accessibility and SEO best practices in all projects
- Leverage Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) for dynamic WordPress functionality
- Perform thorough cross-browser compatibility testing and resolve compatibility issues
- Convert Figma design files into custom, pixel-perfect WordPress themes
- Collaborate seamlessly with UX/UI designers and backend developers to bridge design and technical implementation
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
- Communicate positively and honestly with strong work ethic and reliability
- Stay current with emerging technologies and demonstrate self-directed learning abilities
Note: This position focuses exclusively on custom WordPress development. Projects are built from scratch—no reliance on page builders or templates such as WP Bakery, Divi, or Elementor.
