Job Description
About Glacier
Glacier is a Series A startup based in San Francisco on a mission to solve one of the world's most pressing environmental challenges: waste management and recycling inefficiency. Did you know that in the US, over half of our recyclables end up in landfills? Glacier is changing that through innovative custom sorting robots and AI-powered business analytics that enable recyclers to optimize their operations, reduce carbon emissions, and improve societal circularity.
Our clients range from major CPG companies like Colgate and Amazon to municipal recycling facilities. Our technology has been recognized as one of TIME's Best Inventions, featured in TIME documentaries, and covered by leading media outlets including TechCrunch, Fortune, and CBS News.
The Role
We're seeking a talented Senior Project Engineer to own robot installation projects end-to-end, serving as Glacier's primary technical representative. You'll manage the complete project lifecycle from pre-sales support through customer acceptance, coordinating diverse stakeholders and ensuring seamless customer experiences that maximize environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Support: Partner with the sales team to identify and propose optimal install locations that balance customer requirements with Glacier's technical capabilities and constraints.
- Customer Management: Lead customer meetings and act as the primary technical liaison throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring clear communication, transparency, and high satisfaction levels.
- Project Scheduling & Coordination: Develop detailed project schedules, track critical milestones, and coordinate seamlessly between internal engineering teams, operations, and external partners to ensure on-time, on-budget execution.
- Stakeholder Communication: Manage complex communications with multiple stakeholders including customers, internal teams, and vendors, providing regular status updates and proactively addressing concerns.
- Technical Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot technical challenges, propose engineering solutions, and document lessons learned to continuously improve project execution and customer outcomes.
- Customer Acceptance: Lead final system testing, validation, and acceptance processes, ensuring all deliverables meet or exceed customer expectations and specifications.
What We're Looking For
You're an experienced project engineer with a strong track record managing complex, multi-stakeholder technical projects. You excel at cross-functional collaboration, possess excellent communication skills, and thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments. Your combination of technical depth and customer-facing acumen makes you the ideal bridge between Glacier's engineering teams and our valued clients. Experience in robotics, manufacturing, hardware installation, or related technical fields is highly valued.
Location & Work Arrangement
Note: This role is hybrid, requiring in-office presence on Tuesdays and Thursdays at our San Francisco headquarters.
💰 Compensation not publicly listed. Market estimate for similar roles: from $80K, varying by experience and location.
