The Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced AI Engineer to join our AI Platform team in Sydney. You'll be responsible for building the foundational infrastructure, governance, and tooling that enables our product teams to ship AI-powered features safely and at scale. This is a critical role in making AI central to Culture Amp's product roadmap, particularly supporting our AI assistant Coach, which is transforming how managers and leaders build better workplaces.

What You'll Do

• Develop and optimize platform services that power AI features across Culture Amp, including inference pipelines, embedding storage, and retrieval systems
• Design and implement scalable vector search solutions across diverse unstructured data categories: survey responses, performance feedback, and company documents
• Execute LLMOps best practices across the team, focusing on observability, cost monitoring, and system reliability
• Ensure responsible AI deployment by implementing guardrails, security controls, and data compliance measures
• Collaborate with data scientists to productionize models and evaluate emerging AI capabilities
• Solve genuine scale problems including semantic search across millions of records and multi-type data retrieval

What We're Looking For

You're a strong technical executor who takes ownership and leads by example. Beyond execution, you identify opportunities to improve systems, contribute to technical strategy, and drive engineering excellence. You have hands-on experience building production AI systems and understand the unique challenges of LLM infrastructure, vector databases, and retrieval systems at scale.
