Android Software Engineer (Kotlin)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Android Software Engineer to join SoftwareMind's growing engineering team. This is a full-time remote position where you'll design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android applications using modern technologies and best practices.

As an Android Software Engineer specializing in Kotlin, you will be responsible for building robust, scalable mobile solutions that serve millions of users globally. You'll work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including product managers, UX designers, and QA engineers to deliver exceptional mobile experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Android applications using Kotlin and Java
• Implement clean architecture patterns and SOLID principles
• Write comprehensive unit tests and participate in code reviews
• Optimize application performance and ensure smooth user experiences
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate APIs and services
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues
• Stay current with Android development trends and technologies
• Participate in architectural discussions and technical planning

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional Android development experience
• Advanced proficiency in Kotlin programming
• Strong understanding of Android SDK, APIs, and platform guidelines
• Experience with modern Android development tools and frameworks
• Solid knowledge of REST APIs and mobile networking
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with reactive programming (RxJava, coroutines)
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
• Contributions to open-source projects
• Experience with Jetpack libraries and modern Android architecture
• Understanding of mobile security best practices
