About the Role

As our founding designer, you'll own the complete user experience of Artie — from first login to advanced workflows. You'll transform a powerful, feature-rich platform into something customers can understand, navigate, and adopt independently. This is a high-impact individual contributor role in a small, fast-moving team where you'll work closely with founders and engineers, move quickly through ambiguity, and ship improvements continuously.

This is a product design role focused on usability, clarity, and customer outcomes rather than aesthetic polish. If you care deeply about solving user problems and creating intuitive experiences for technical audiences, this is your opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

Make Artie Self-Serve and Understandable

• Design onboarding flows, navigation systems, and in-product guidance that help customers understand where they are, what's available, and how to use Artie effectively
• Improve feature discoverability and reduce reliance on support and founder-led walkthroughs
• Create clear information architecture for complex, data-intensive workflows

Bring Coherence to a Growing Product

• Establish clear, intuitive design patterns as new features and capabilities are added
• Rationalize feature flags, configuration surfaces, and advanced settings
• Balance power and simplicity for technical users without compromising either

Be a Strong Product Partner

• Collaborate closely with engineers and founders to shape product direction and strategy
• Ask critical questions, propose user-centric solutions, and advocate thoughtfully when design considerations affect user outcomes
• Translate product concepts into concrete, usable workflows and flows quickly

Ship Fast and Iterate

• Work with speed in a low-process environment where execution matters
• Get designs in front of real users early and often to validate assumptions
• Embrace iteration and continuous improvement as core to the role

Ideal Candidate Profile: You've designed products for technical or engineering audiences. You understand data platforms, developer tools, or complex B2B software. You can communicate design thinking clearly and aren't attached to your designs. You move fast without sacrificing thoughtfulness. You're excited by the challenge of making complex systems accessible.
